Baggage Policy At Saudi Airports for expats and locals in 2025.


Today we will enlist the things allowed to take through a Saudi airport and what shouldn't be taken with us to ensure a smooth tinkering flight.These include conditions for expats and locals alike.




CURRENCY:

If you have a nornal salary ranging from 3000 to 3500 riyal or above , you can only take 60000 riyal to foreign countries.60K riyal is the limit.

But lets say a man is earning a hefty amount such as 10000 riyal and hes going back to his country after 2 or 3 years and he has much more than 60K riyal, then he must get a decleration form from the airport and give evidence along with it.This evidence can range from a company check, a bank statement , or simply a company stamped paper.

Evidence should be provided so the person doesn't feel any turbulence while trying to take such large amount of cash out of Saudi Arabia.

Taking cash more than 60K riyal without Decleration form will automatically result in a fine of upto 25%.






POLICY REGARDING GOLD & PRECIOUS STONES:

A person can only carry gold and stones such as diamonds worth upto 60K riyal.If the price exceeds 60K riyal ,then they have to file a decleration form and provide evidence.

Regarding gold,diamonds and currency, the person must only carry 60K riyal worth of any of the three.You cannot carry 60K each worth of diamond,gold and currency at the same time.To do that , you must file a decleration form.





FOREIGN CURRENCY POLICY:

If a person is carrying any type of foreign currency,lets say PKR or INR, and they want to take it with them out of the country,they must not take more than that worth of 60K riyal.

If the currency is worth more than 60K riyal,then they must file a decleration form and submit evidence such as bank statements.




JEWELRY POLICY:

A woman can carry personal jewelry of any worth,but the condition are that she must be wearing them. If the authorities suspect foul play as they see a little too much jewelry , they can detain and question , so dont go overboard on jewelry.


PERSONAL ITEMS IN LUGGAGE THAT ARE PROHIBITED:

You cannot carry any things that contains battery or any device that runs on electricity.Albeit they are some small toy or a battery run car, these are allowed.

We can carry electrical devices including powerbanks in our handbag.

You cannot carry any knifes, axes,inflammatory or explosive devices,any thing that can cause harm in any way possible in your handbag or luggage.

If you take any electronic devices from Saudi Arab to any country, you have to pay taxes.

You can carry 1 laptop without any additional fees.Also mobile phones dont matter how many you carry , but the authorities can question you if the phones are expensive.


THE BEST TO PACK YOUR LUGGAGE:

Most people pack their bags too tightly to ensure its safe, that is wrong as it can damage your bag.

Dont carry stuff in random cloth sacks as it is discouraged and unsafe.

Zamzam water cannot be packed into your own personal luggage as airport specifically packs the water bottles for you.

Dont make the wrapping around the luggage too thick as it is made despondent by the airport staff.




WHAT NOT TO CARRY IN HANDBAG:

Do not carry food in handcarry such as homemade food, hotel food , even water is prohibited.

You cannot carry axes,knifes,blades,nail cutters, any types of gaseous cylinder,any liquid, any sport equipment including cricket bat,basketball,football,any types of magnet,any frequency-altering device including walkietalkie , hammers and screwdrivers in your personal handbag.
