Online Procedure to Apply for NOCIP

NOCIP Stands for National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistani's . Let us walk you through the process of applying or renewing your NICOP in Saudi Arabia, in a way that's easier to follow.

Step 1: Gather the Required Documents

Before you start the application process, make sure you have these documents on hand:

  • Old NICOP (if you're renewing): This is needed to prove you’ve had a previous NICOP. Make sure to have a photocopy of it.
  • Passport Copy: You’ll need a scanned copy of your valid Pakistani passport.
  • Iqama Copy (if you're living in Saudi Arabia): A copy of your Iqama (your Saudi residence permit) is important.
  • For Dependents: If you are applying for your spouse or children, you'll need their NICOP and passport copies too, along with your own documents.

Step 2: Understand the Fees

The NICOP application comes with different fees depending on how quickly you want to receive your card:

  • Urgent NICOP: If you need the card quickly, choose this option. It will be processed in about 30 days, and costs SR 96.
  • Executive NICOP: This is a faster service that will get your NICOP ready in 15 days, but it costs a little more at SR 182.

The decision between urgent and executive really depends on how soon you need your NICOP. If you can wait a bit, the cheaper option might work for you.

Step 3: Apply Online

To apply online:

  1. Visit the NADRA Website: You can go to the official website of NADRA (the organization that handles NICOP) and start the application.
  2. Create an Account: If you haven’t already, you’ll need to create an account. Don’t worry, it’s just a quick registration process.
  3. Fill in Your Details: After logging in, you'll fill in some basic personal details—things like your name, passport number, and contact info.
  4. Upload Documents: Now, you’ll upload scanned copies of your documents (old NICOP, passport, Iqama, etc.).
  5. Choose Your Service: Decide whether you want the Urgent or Executive option for faster processing.
  6. Make the Payment: Finally, you’ll pay the fee online. You can pay using your credit card or through other available methods.

The beauty of doing this online is that it saves you a lot of time compared to having to go in person. It’s also pretty convenient if you're busy and can’t make it to the office right away.

Step 4: Manual (In-Person) Application

If you prefer doing things face-to-face or you need to visit for any reason, here's how you can apply manually:

  1. Book an Appointment: If necessary, make an appointment with NADRA. You can do this online or by calling the office to schedule.
  2. Visit the NADRA Office: On the day of your appointment, head to the nearest NADRA office in Saudi Arabia. Most offices are open from 8 AM to 3 PM, so make sure you go during these hours.
  3. Submit Your Documents: At the office, you’ll submit your original documents (and copies), fill out the required forms, and verify everything.
  4. Biometrics and Photo: For people over the age of 15, NADRA will take your biometric details (like fingerprints) and a photo for your new NICOP.
  5. Payment: You’ll need to pay the required fee at the office. They usually have a counter where you can make the payment.

Step 5: Collect Your NICOP

Once your NICOP is ready, you’ll get a notification to pick it up. The processing time depends on the type of service you selected:

  • If you went for the Urgent service, it should be ready in about 30 days.
  • If you went for the Executive service, it’ll be ready much sooner—in 15 days.

When the time comes, go back to the NADRA office to pick up your NICOP. It’s important to go on the scheduled day to avoid any delays.

A Few Extra Things to Keep in Mind

  • The NICOP is important for overseas Pakistanis because it allows you to access services in Pakistan, vote in elections, and handle government matters from abroad.
  • If you're applying for a family member’s NICOP, be sure to gather all their documents as well, since they’ll need to be submitted together.

In short, the process is quite simple whether you choose to do it online or visit the office. The online application is quicker and more convenient, but if you prefer doing things in person, the office is there to help.
